W210 Battery Charging Question
I'm getting ready to re-ring the fuel system with Viton.
In preparation for the inevitable air purging, I'm wondering if I can recharge the battery through the jumper cable post under the hood? The thought occured to me while contemplating the removal of both child car seats. I'd really, really hate to damage some electronics by not isolating the battery. Comments are appreciated!

The FSM and the owner's manual both state to disconnect the battery for charging.
But there is hope for your child seats. Unhook the negative cable where it connects to the body, which is behind a small plastic cover at the base of the rear seat cushion, just to the right of the driveshaft tunnel. Connect the negative lead of the charger to the disconnected terminal and the positive lead to the jump-starting post under the hood. You'll have to extend one of the leads to reach. |
