CV shaft question

Getting ready to do my cv shafts and I know most here tout the praises of this CVJ Denver place. I am wanting to know what is the difference in the shafts from my local parts house vs CVJ Denver? Thanks for replies...

Since I don't know anything about your local parts place I can't really answer, can I? Try calling CVJ at 800-292-2953 and ask Steve Skirrow that question.

In general, the cheapie-Joe rebuilders don't take the care that the more expensive ones do. They use out-of-spec (worn or bent) "core" axles and end up with a product that you and I cannot tell from a good one. They almost always get away without having to make good on their "lifetime warranty" because (a) you get lucky -- the axle gives good service, (b) you sell the car, (c) you lose the paperwork or otherwise don't remember where you got the axle, (d) someone else replaced the axle for you and there's no paperwork.

FWIW, I've got about 100K miles on my CVJ half shafts without any problems. I don't know about the McParts stuff, I wouldn't buy any critical parts from them, especially not anything that requires a significant amount of labor for installation.

Yeah OK. I get it! "You get what you paid for..." syndrome going on here!

Both are right though...who wants to go to all that trouble just to find out you ended up with a bad unit !?!?! Not me for sure...

I hear you LOUD and clear, I'll most likely go to CVJ for my new ones! Thanks for the replies

Not always, but in this case I really think that you do get what you pay for.
