I've been running MB diesels for 35 years now. (2 were new)
I'm a bit infatuated with the idea of a 2005 CDI (found one with 20,000 miles in a MB Dealer) and getting a mixed opinion through Consumer reports and various others about this machine. Some complaining about reliability of these last few years. The initial reviews perhaps prejudiced were mostly gushingly rave but I've not found a lot about real pros and cons.
Anyone out there had some substantial experience from an operators point and from a maintainers point of view?'

The '87 Turbodiesel we have now pleases greatly I am tempted by new and better.

Sure would like to get some good info on them; opinions or sources of info. Any advice would be appreciated.
