Priming Fuel Pump

On a 124 body with a non turbo 6 cyl, not sure of the model here chime in if you do, is there a little priming pump on the side of the injection pump like on my old 5 cyl? I need to change out the fuel filters, and the tank is bone dry right now, so I would imagine that it's going to need a good priming. I did see a little red lever between the injection pump and the aire cleaner.

If it's there or not, you dont need it. For priming you can crack open fuel line injector fittings then crank it until they bleed for faster and better results.

not sure how similar the processes are but with the w123 you prefill the main filter with fuel or even transmission oil (cleans out injectors). if no start then prime with 50 pumps. if still not starting, then crack one of the fuel lines at the injectors and prime till you see fuel.

btw are you toledo area?

The "red lever" is a manual engine shutoff.

Assuming you are talking about the 86 300D, I don't think 86 and newer engines have primers. You just have to crank the piss out of them. When changing filters, it helps alot if you fill the new spin on filter with fuel or ATF prior to installing.
