123 site

Just browsing the web and came across this interesting and quite comprehensive W123 only site - in French. Perhaps someone has already noted it here. I'll try to do better and come up with one in English next time.

http://www.mercedesw123.info

A few links to their pages that detail the various models.

http://www.mercedesw123.info/w-123/static.php?op=280E.htm

http://www.mercedesw123.info/w-123/static.php?op=200carbu.htm

http://www.mercedesw123.info/w-123/static.php?op=240D.htm

If you click on the following link, you'll be directed to their stack of online articles which have some quality photos that accompany the articles. Lots of info on SLS.

But, if you go to http://www.freetranslation.com you can have a free, instant translation of any page on the site. The translation is rough in many respects but will give the context of the topic more value to the English reader.

I live in France and visit 123.info regularly. Check out the wiki (http://www.mercedesw123.info/pmwiki/) which has a good number of comprehensively illustrated guides to various small and large service jobs - still in French tho!

That Wiki looks great, if only it was in English, doh!

I feel we're really lacking in pictorial walkthroughs. We have dieselgiant and this site but they're nowhere near complete and some on dieselgiant aren't comprehensive in their descriptions

You can come up with some really obscure stuff out there when searching Google's image base. If you find a picture say, of a vintage Mercedes and look below the image thumbnail, you might happen across what is obviously a dedicated site...as in the case of the 123 specific website. So you click on the picture and it takes you to this site that perhaps you've never seen before. But yep, unfortunately, the odds of finding everything purely in English don't weigh favorably - considering the cars are all over the world.

Right click any link free area of any page, go down to page info, then down to translate page into English, might need a google toolbar, not sure, but don't think so...

Interesting search method. I use basically the same thing to do a coarse sort because of the stupefying number of returns you get from regular Googling.
