617 in the Land Rover. Buttoned up and running
It's been a while since I've posted...Been working pretty hard on this engine conversion. Thought I'd post a picture of the engine compartment. All together for the most part and running and driving under its own power. I'm pretty excited about how it's coming out.

Awesome work - it looks great. Do you think this will make the Rover more suited for highway driving? All that torque should make it a beast off-road.

Really looks like a factory install, good job. There was a busted knuckle in there somewhere.
Jay Clicked the link and the adapter is 700.00. Wow, that's some R&D surcharge there.

Yes, truly a professional job.
I will be glad to hear of the results. Tom W

Curious why you have the MB pusher fan? Is this the primary or aux cooling fan? For better off road cooling?

That is the only fan in the truck (it's actually out of a Volvo 240 wgn.) and it will be wired to a manual switch. There's room for the mechanical fan, but it would be tight. This is how I run my other truck and have no issues at all. These diesels seem to run very cool.

Ford version of the NP435. It's a very strong and common American 4-speed and the Ford version has a 6.68:1 first gear.

[QUOTE=MercedesRover;1838667]I built a short-wheel base truck with an OM616 engine in it about 7 years ago. Still running strong.
I see that now in your web site, very nice.
