Intermittant wiper delay time setting

I have an issue with my 85 wagon. My wiper delay time is about 1 second, which might as well just be on the low setting. My 2 1980 240's have about a 4-5 second delay, which is almost perfect.
In searching, it appears there may me a wiper relay that controls delay. Here is where I got that info:

Where is this wiper relay, if in fact that is what controls it, and can it be swapped out with an earlier year that might have a longer delay?
Thanks all.......

My '85 should be electrically identical to yours (except for the Calif. smog stuff) and the wiper delay is several seconds, so yours must be defective. The delay relay is behind the instrument cluster, about where the oil pressure gauge is, according to the (CD-ROM version) FSM. I would guess that all W123 cars (and maybe more) had the same delay relay so you could get a used one from a junkyard or used parts supplier. Looks like the part number is 000 821 08 63, $36 from ******** Arizona. I can't find the part in the EPC.

Excellent. I crossed checked it to an '81 240D and that gave the same part #, so maybe it will be Scar to the rescue again.
Thanks Jeremy.

Jimmy, did you fix this with a new relay? Is your old non-working relay for sale?

I haven't messed with it yet. Still have to find the relay from Scar. I had already removed it, and now I have to figure out where I put it....

I"M NOT THE ONLY ONE!!!

I feel so much more sane now, knowing that I'm not the only one who dissasembled a car or two, and can't find all of the parts. Thanks Jimmy!

Please let me know if you're willing to sell the old, dead one. I have a circuit and some software code that implements an infinitely variable 0-30 second wiper delay. I need an old relay to figure out how much room I have to play with for packaging.
