New injectors or just nozzles?

My 96 is kinda hesitating around 1700 rpm's, and my mechanic says it COULD be an injector issue. Should I get the nozzles cleaned, replaced or just go with new injectors? Once you get passed 2000 rpm's it is smooth as can be. I hear this could help with the knocking too?

Try an additive (redline 85, or B2 or other of your choice) first, then DP.

Never heard of a whole inj wearing out, usually is fouled nozzles or bad spray patterns/pop pressure requiring different shims to bring back to spec.

Is it true that it takes about an hour to do each one?

but if you count 1/2 hour to get them all off, 1/2 hour all back in.

The issue is how far off they are from balanced. I did a set of 5 (replace all nozzles and pop test) in 40-45 minutes. BUT, they were all in a box and only two needed to be reshimmed.
