Jumping Needles

My temp needle, fuel needle, and speed needles are very jumpy. Does anyone know what it might be. I have heard that it might be a bad negative batt connection. Could this be it?? 300 D 1984

look for loose ground wires on the back of the instrument panel. Try this thread it talks about the same problem.
