Chugged gas like one of my buddies chugs beer

So i filled up on sunday, last week i got 290 miles from one tank. Today im near empty at 160. If you have seen my other post im having some electrical trouble, and was wondering if maybe this had something to do with it. Or is there something else.

Since some of us might not have seen your last post, you may want to tell us what car you are talking about, or we could just guess. I guess you have a fuel leak.

Either your the odometer doesnt work, the fuel gauge doesnt work, or you have a very serious fuel leak (~8-10 mpg's??? something is not right).

I'd concentrate on the latter first, then the former.

How much fuel are you able to put in the tank when it reads empty?

the 84 300D is known to have slipping and even non functional odometers. that is where I would start.
next on the list, would be the fuel tank lines,
next would be how many gallons of fuel are you getting in there? these cars have a vented fuel tank, if the vent gets plugged, the fuel tank can collapse.
report back.

and, no.
electrical problems will not effect the fuel consumption, or mileage.

My trip meter/odometer broke a few teeth and now my car says I get about 100 miles less to a tank than I actually do. Keep track of your mileage before you get it fixed so you can adjust it properly.

Cant remember the exact size of the 123 tank but 10 gals is ~1/2 a tankful. Its not a honda......

Your gauge is way off (not uncommon, check grounds) and the odometer prob is too (also not uncommon).

Talk like a Pro

Hey Uncle Mark, we don't do GAS on this forum. It's diesel, or fuel and only slow learners say gas.

I would call it fuel if I was putting it in my "fuel" tank.
