I think my transmission is toast

The explanation here is from when I drove the car around today without the vacuum line hooked up to the trans.

When the throttle is all the way on the floor, or I am barely hitting it, it reacts fine. When I have the throttle in the middle, the trans slips all the way through 2nd and 3rd. I can feel it slam into gear, but the rpm doesn't change and the car is still speeding up.

I don't know much about transmissions, but I am pretty sure this one is toast. Any thoughts?

With vacuum out the the picture, doesn't sound good.

How many miles on this transmission?

Did this poor performance happen suddenly or has it been failing gradually?

Is the fluid level correct, Is the filter clean?

Rick

I replaced the filter and put synthetic fluid in there about 4 months ago. I checked the fluid level and verified it was good once I started having the problem. There was also no debris on the dipstick when I checked it.

There are about 100k mi on the trans.

I started having the problem when I realized and fixed the problem with my overboost sensor. The problem started immediately with the added power from a properly working turbo system.

I know there are a lot of tricks to this transmission, so I wanted to get confirmation before spending the cash to replace it. Thanks for the help.
