I am sure the threads in one glow plug are stripped as I can move it freely, but it will not come out.
Should be found in most hardware stores.

I had that too. I screwed it back in and then out and then in and out and finally it came out

I stand by my recomendation of Kroil and biodiesel to remove the plugs
How did the biodiesel remove the plug? I used Kroil or it's equivalent but I didn't think dumping biodiesel in the cylinder was a good idea

Frequent Italian Tune Up?

Use of Bio-Diesel (B20 on a regular basis)?
Take it out every year and a half and clean the threads with a wire wheel and coat the entire body (NOT the tip) with anti-seize.

Maybe.

Doubtful

Well, before the EGR, I do see some oily deposits on the pipes and the hoses do sweat some oil now and then. HOWEVER, after the EGR, I do see that there is sticky goo. If there are no oily fumes on the passages, I don't think AS MUCH soot will stick on the walls.

>> I've run the CCV mod on my '97 E300 for at least 70-80k so far w/ no issues!

Unlike EGR, which is something to be removed at all costs, CCV does actually do some good.

There's some intersting stuff here;

On a rail project I worked on about 5 years ago, I've consulted these experts, and they do really know their onions.
