Blinking Warning Lights
I have an 85 300SD on which the dashboard warning lights will all suddenly flash on and off. The duration is only for a second or two and sometime they flash on strongly and other times they kind of fade weakly in and out. I haven't been able to isolate it to a particular time, ie just after starting or after driving for a while, and it doesn't appear to affect the performance of the engine when it happens.
OK, so in anyones opinion is this most likely a wiring issue, or maybe an alternator, battery, or belt? I'm just looking for a good idea where to start troubleshooting. I hate intermittent problems! Thanks in advance for any advise you can offer. |

It sounds like a loose ground wire to me. Check the wiring diagrams available on this site.

My experience with erratic dash and indicators has always been from voltage problems. Low voltage at startup and alternator acting up.
