Oil in coolant?
Grasping at straws here but I just wanted to check, oil in the coolant means bad head gasket or cracked head, no other possible causes correct?

If it's transmission fluid as opposed to oil, it could mean a failure across the coolant/transmission fluid boundary in the radiator.

Could it not be a crack in the high pressure oil galley and the coolant galley as well?

Cast engine head and block. 617 diesel. Percentage favours a tired head gasket. Check head for still being flat when it is off.

Spring
'Not a happy discovery.
However, you are so lucky/delighted that it's not one of the newer diesels with an Aluminum head! And the weather is warming slowly. |
