Adjusted Bowden cable = keeping my foot off the carpet = MPG picked up ?
Ok so I adjusted the cable 2 weeks ago. Problem was being in 4th gear by 30mph. I was always driving foot to the carpet and manually holding the shifter, playing paddle-shifting whenever I needed to scoot. Shifts perfectly now and I'm rarely on the carpet..
I filled the car last week but haven't really been driving it much since. I took a customer car or two home for overnight test drives and a Q7 loaner home for the weekend for a trip to Ikea. I decided to top off my tank last night as the anal guy I am, I kinda like to start off the pay period with a full tank so I can go to the next paycheck without needing fuel. Not living paycheck to paycheck, just a dumb thing I do, going 2 weeks without needing fuel. I've been keeping my max speed at 70mph. Well 175 miles on 5.8 gallons = 30.17mpg. My previous average was 23.5-24.5mpg. HOT DAMN !! That nearly equals the Sentra...

NICE! My bio brewer buddy's son is down in TX right now ( USAF) looking for another ranch truck , i.e, Ford diesel. 30.15 mpg on an alternative fuel would be even cooler!
anyway, good show on the TV cable adjustment! |

I'd love to try bio or some VO mixed in. At $4.00 gal, I just might fill to 3/4 tank and go to the supermarket and buy 5 gallons of Crisco....
