C220 on the horizon??

We went to the local car show this weekend and while we were there, I had a conversation with the Mercedes representative about the possibility of them bringing over a diesel in the new C. He said they had been talking about it for the past couple of years and that it might happen in 09. The 220 bluetec already meets the emissions for Europe, so it should be a good fit for here in the old U.S. of A. With a MPG of over 40 in the European trim, it should sell well here.
What do you think or what have you heard about it. Personally I am going to think about it, It might be my next one!

I wouldn't be surprised if they did bring it to the U.S. to improve their fleet mpg numbers.
