1983 300D - Wheel Bearing Problem!

I am getting a fairly loud "banging" sound that is coming from the back right wheel. It generally does not happen until I have gotten up to 60mph+ and then slow down. Sometimes it happens all of the time I am driving. There is no loss of power or response. Is this a possible wheel bearing problem?

Thanks for the help!

Can you describe the sound? A bang is unlikely to be a bearing, a CV joint is more likely.

The sound is a consistent banging, or clanking. Almost like a tire out of round, but much worse.

Yup, it sounds like a CV joint, take a look at the rubber boots and see if there are any tears,

Will do, and thanks for the help. Is this a really difficult repair? I do most of the repairs on my cars, but I have never had to replace a cv joint.
