What would you do? Tranny clunk

I just had my balljoints replaced at a local shop. While there I asked them about a clunk sound i hear when accelerating at a low speed (<20mph). he said the the trans was indeed shifting harder than normal and that it is not harming the trans. He did say that it was harming the flex disks and the driveshaft.

I obviously do not want to take it to he dealer. Should i take it to a transmission shop for a look or do i jusk keep driving but keeping a close eye on the flex disks' condition.

it's not a bad clunk sound and i can live with it. your thoughts are appreciated. the car is a 1990 350sdl.

Transmission shifting hard is a vacuum related issue. Do you know of any good independent MB shops in the area. You do not want to run a flex disc to failure.

How is the baby doing?
