I lost my fuel cap at a gas station once. I had no idea how I could have(didnt know about the spring that doubles as a cap holder)... so.. I was like.. hmmmmmm and rummaged through my glove box and found on... took it out and put it over the fuel filler hole and tied it off tight so no diesel would pool in the resevoir cap ![]() I remember some tool did the same( with a rag) on one of the mitsubish forums I used to frequent |

I've interchanged oil and fuel caps, and it appears as long as they are metal, they will swap. I keep a shoebox of caps in the shop in case I need another...
I've got a bad habit with our MGB of filling up and forgetting to replace the gas cap. After doing this twice, I tried a MB cap and it fits! So now we run around with a nice MB cap with a star on the back of our MGB. Jim

luckily the station owner found it and knew it was mine, kept it and gave it back next time i was there.
