Really senseless poll
How many of us line up the star in the center of the wheel with the name on the tire? I'm betting around 50%.

I have to admit that I've never even thought about doing that.

Try keeping all 4 center cap stars pointing the same direction.

I also admit to never even having thought about doing that. I do other OCD things....(keeping hood star perfectly straight)....and so on....but the wheels I don't think about because the tire place does it for me.

I even have three different brands of tire on the 240. Two Dunlops on 14x6.5 (peeling) chrome bundts on the front, a mostly worn out studded snow on a 14x6 (I think) steelie with a brown hubcap on the RR, and an old Firestone on another 14x6 (I think) steelie with a white hubcap on the LR. I at least have four of the same tire/rim on the 300.

My brother suggested trying to rig them up with some sort of ball bearings and a weight so they always point the same direction

Rolls-Royce already did that on the Phantom.

Done that before car shows.. Also had the writing on the tire valve step caps lined up. Talk about an OCD moment.

You got it wrong....
... Correct way is to line up one of the points of the star with the valve stem.
Learned that years ago while acting as a concours judge. Jim

I line all my hub cap stars up with the hood star to create my own little Bermuda Triangle inside the car.

I'm as OCD as anybody on here, and never even thought about that.
Must check the hubbies, must check the hubbies, must check the hubbies...... Now, I will pull over and adjust the hood start straight.....

Line up the star with the name on the tire? never thought about it. now I have something else to worry about.
The hood star, now that is important. I have noticed it a little off while driving and pull over and get out and straighten it up. my wife probably thinks Iam nuts. Keeping the aluminium shined up under the hood is important also. I do pull the wheels and keep the insides of the rims washed. Charlie ☺
