What is the red LED on my shift bezel? 92 300D

Dumb question -- I just bought a 92 300D and it has a small red light (LED maybe?) on the shifter bezel. There is no manual at all with the car, so I don't even know if that's a factory light or not, but it flashes intermittently. Anyone have any idea what the heck it is? An alarm someone installed at some point maybe? If so, I need to disconnect it -- it's annoying at night.

Many thanks!

Scratch that question -- finally got through to the PO and it's a built-in radar detector (???). It used to beep when it flashed, too, apparently, but he disconnected the audible portion. I'll finish the job, I think, since I'm not too much of a leadfoot anyway.

They are great cars. Got the same one. They are kinda rare. Not all that many. Have you had a chance to check your 0-60 times? should be low teens above 20 and your boost isn't working.

Yeah, my boost isn't working, I don't think. I need to sort that out. No obvious vacuum line problems that I can see, so I'll have to dig further in. WHEN should I see the EGR functioning, anyway?

You can get the codes from the computer. It's easy using a multi meter and an jumper wire. I found the directions here:
