Leaking trans fluid 79300TD
I have gathered more intell since my last posted thread. Seems as though my transmission was WAY overfilled(3inches) past level mark. The fluid is coming from the front of the trans (by the grate). The doors still will not unlock with the key,and the engine turns over, but will not start.Do I need to pull the transmission? (seal, or o-ring?117,000miles,original trans. Jerry.

300sd
Turns out that I did not fill trans properly when replacing filter and gasket. level was way overfilled, because I did not drive car for 20 min and check level. What I did was to keep filling untilfluid read on dipstick.A nice gentelman on this site messaged me and said "give me your phone# so I did. He called and told me to drain fluid, add 4 qts, drive car for 20 min, and slowly add fluid until full. Problem solved, turns out that all MB have a vent on top of the trans that allows excess fluid to escape before a seal goes. Door locks began to work fine after car was driven. {note} I did scan archives before I submitted a post, but got anxiety attack after 345 pages. Jerry
