Fuel Tank Filter

Could someone tell me where the access to the fuel filter is for the fuel tank on a W123? Does the tank need to be drained in order to replace / clean it?

It's a screen. You can access it from the bottom of the car directly under the tank area. You'll need to drain the tank for sure.

I'm guessing it's where the fuel line is coming out of?

yup, there is a fuel line going into it. Also, there is a large hex that you have to loosen. I'm not sure what size, but it's a large hex, you can't miss it. Do search as well. There are a few write ups IIRC.
