... haven't decided for sure yet. I suppose I will pull the head, and save it for my SD and put a donor motor in there and sell it.
when I say metal in there... I mean the oil pickup was CRAMMED with flakes of bearing metal shavings.
lesson is DO NOT DRIVE A CAR WITH BAD OR OLD COOLER LINES!!!

Going 60-65 for six hours with an engine knock if I suspected it might be a rod is questionable. I would rather take 12 hours useing secondary roads and keep the speed down. I sure hope he makes it.
Sounds about 50-50 to me. Again for peace of mind I would seriously consider disabiling that cylinder for the trip home. If there was enough power left to drive in a reasonable fashion that is. We will know how the trip went soon enough and maybe the knock was just a bad injector.

Just needs to make it home. Could be a long weekend. Worse case I'll have to leave it somewhere (dealership via AAA) then go get it with my shorty bus which would take about $350 in fuel.

It'll make it. Wonder if there was any metal in the oil when he changed it, or what caused the problem to begin with? Neglect....

I have a engine in the stable that had a piston knock, and oil leak that both went away after an oil change..... go figure that one out??? I am not sure I trust it, but it runs great, and no longer makes that "ting-ting-ting" noise when it idles.. and that was just an oil change.... good luck on the way home.

Was it Sulu on the Excelsior? I believe it was "THEN FLY HER APART"

Sulu manages not to fly the ship apart and reached the Enterprise in time to assist. Sulu brought up the rear during the battle, if I remember correctly.

Set your phasers for STUNNING! FABULOUS!

Man, I hope the body is real clean and hasn't been in any accidents. Some of the lines look a little off in the pictures.....

snow,
if you decide to pass on this car, please let me know. I'm about 1.5 + hours from brooklyn and have a twin to it. I'd love to have another. Especially at that price. you can em me direct and I'll give you my cell. If you're gonna hit a ferry on the way home, I'm about an hour from the Pt Jeff ferry. It's probably faster for you to just go north on the BQE to the Whitestone Bridge and get on 95 N. Good luck. Nice find. Mike

All the treckies are getting in on this now. Strange as warp speed is not involved. Just weak impulse drive at best combined with a knock.
Perhaps we can get an opinion from Mr. Scott the engineer other than it's bound to blow captain. Or we canna go on like this much longer captain.
