Arrow 300SDL Dash help

Swapped the dashboard on my 87 300SDL with the help from previous threads. I attached all the main connectors and bulbs back into the instrument cluster, except a random wire that looks like a naked ground wire. I didn't break anything, I knew what I was doing from when I removed the "new" dash off a junked 300SDL. When I start the car my battery light stays lit, my engine coolant tank light flickers and so does the brake light. Brakes are new, hooked the parking brake back, and coolant is 2 days old. All guages work except fuel and engine temp., which woories me...

Any thoughts or ideas are greatly appreciated!
Thank You!

Exclamation Need Help!

Oil pressure gauge works, but no engine temperature or fuel guage working. Battery light stays lit, coolant and brake lights flicker. What could the naked wire go to? ANY HELP or SUGGESTIONS please!

Thank YOU!

I pulled the cluster from the '91 yesterday, seems there was a single wire to the back of the tach area.

had pretty much the same symptoms......

The dash lights rheostat device (seen on earlier SD cars) had loosened the solder on one of the brass strips. Also, I think the round plug with a bunch of wires on the left side of the dash may have been off one pin. See if the half moon locator plug is intact and fitting properly into the dash half moon recepticle.

Regards

Exclamation really weird

Tried playing with the reostat device, it looks like my mold for the crescent has broken off!

I took all connections out and made sure they lined the numbers up correctly. All connectors were numbered except the reostat. The reostat plug in has numbers, but not on the cluster like the others. I tried getting it to fit properly. Now when I start the car only the fuel guage works (on left side cluster) to what I think is right, until I turn the headlights and the fuel and oil jump to maximum which is wrong, and still no engine temp.

If the car is off and I just turn the ignition, I see the engine temp., correct oil pressure, and correct fuel. Everything else works fine (tach, speedo) Still not sure where naked wire goes to....

Thank you for ALL help or ideas!
