Power windows on drivers side NOT!
So........ the power windows on the drivers side of the car don't work. Anyone have this problem? 1985 240d. (EURO) When I removed the center console deck, the switches are ganged as one unit. All fuses work, and windows work with key in off position. Passenger side works. Anyone have a spare used power window switch they won't to lend for me to diagonose and possibly sell if that's the problem?
5 wires to front switch, 4 wires to rear switch. I checked with a meter and can't seem to locate a hot wire in the bunch, or just have lousy ground. BTW< What an great bunch of guys on this site. I've done so much learning by just searching and reading other posts. Thanks. |

Another option is manual driver's window crank assembly will bolt straight across. Did this with one of my 240's, tellin myself I'd replace poorly engineered electric window mechanisms one by one with manual crank when they break. Knowing I'd be upgrading resale value of the vehicle too.

Maybe you can disassemble the switch, and clean it up.
