Power windows on drivers side NOT!

So........ the power windows on the drivers side of the car don't work. Anyone have this problem? 1985 240d. (EURO) When I removed the center console deck, the switches are ganged as one unit. All fuses work, and windows work with key in off position. Passenger side works. Anyone have a spare used power window switch they won't to lend for me to diagonose and possibly sell if that's the problem?
5 wires to front switch, 4 wires to rear switch. I checked with a meter and can't seem to locate a hot wire in the bunch, or just have lousy ground.
BTW< What an great bunch of guys on this site. I've done so much learning by just searching and reading other posts. Thanks.
