Help!
I have removed the original sunroof seals (which had over the years reduced to decayed base strips with no nap left), and have attempted to install replacements that I purchased from www.performanceproducts4benz.com.

The replacements were too long; so I cut them to length to match the originals.

The replacements have a very "fat" nap.

The sunroof won't close; gets stuck with about 1" to go.

I tried removing some of the nap to no avail; I am down to 50% of the nap now and it still won't close.

Any thoughts anyone? I'm thinking the vendor sent me the wrong seals? Has anyone else tried this with success?

In the meantime it's raining in VA and the car's staying in the garage!
