You're joking right? Its a bottle jack, some off the shelf fittings and an old injector line. It probably cost them less than $75 to make!

Another rip-off from Mercedes$ource.

I don't know, there's some machining involved, and finding the fittings is a PITA...but it gives me a good idea for my CIS injection tester - I built one to test/clean injectors but it uses compressed air to push the fluid and I don't think this is the best way to go.

can a bottle jack survive pumping diesel fuel for long? one would think the seals would disintegrate after a while... looks simpler than the grease gun testers I have seen... I would have put the gauge on the side connector to eliminate air in the gauge better... how much pressure can the cheapo galvanized 1/4" pipe tee handle?
hey, it does come with the Mercede$$ource instruction manual for free!!! that's gotta be worth the 150/160 purchase price!

hey, I just noticed they have injector shims for sale... anybody else know where to order shims from?

$75 if that much. MY question is... when the clockwork inside the gauge goes *p-TING* after pattern testing (pumping in rapid succession WITHOUT a shutoff valve) who covers repair or replacement?

Im pretty sure I saw this bottle jack at harbor freight. The orange color is also kinda there trademark.

about the price, well, the man did have to find the proper fittings, maybe even have them machined to fit, source all the parts, assemble the thing, pay for his website, pay his employees and himself, rent, electricity, tax, etc. etc. so he is entitled to a profit.

It looks very simple, but im sure he spent many hours trying different combinations to get it to work, etc. Maybe we will have a member try to make his own and he will tell us how much time he spent sourcing all the parts and assembling it? Kinda reverse engineer it, lol.

Personally, I dont have that many diesels and since injectors are done every 100,000 miles, I would rather pay a professional to rebuild and balance mine than monkey around with it myself.

Its hard to tell from the picture, but if you look in the "fuel tank", it looks like there *might* be one inside. Right where the bottle and jack connect something is a little darker. It could just be a shadow too...

It would be a good question for someone to call and ask him

remember to use vegetable oil instead of diesel.. yes it will destroy the seals quickly, but i dont think you would want to loose your finger because diesel was injected into it, where as vegetable oil, your body absorbs it.

My 40+year old Buda injector tester is based on a bottle jack. Seems like a good way to make one.
The problem I see with the featured tester is holding it securely while pumping to building pressure.

the directions say to bolt it to your bench. seems like they put some time and effort into it so they deserve to get what the market will bear, according to the advert they cant make them fast enough so I doubt a price break is coming any time soon
