I also like doing the valves....pretty soon we are going to have four of these beasts!

603 owners are just afraid to work on the engine. *Flame Suit on!*

You may not have to adjust the valves on an OM603, but we can easily change our glow plugs.........

Thumbs up

I bet I'd put up a good race changing six GPs on a 603 W126.

That's not difficult to beat. I can do that even on my w201 with the om602 turbo.

When is the next meet ? Sounds like we need an old-fashioned head to head competition. Put up ideas for rules (like "each man gets the same tools as his competition, torque wrench use required....etc...) in this thread....

Also - what could we compete with ?
event #1 - the glow plug changeout with reaming - OM617 vs OM603
event #2 - Intake cleaning
event #3 - fuel filter change
event #4 - seat pad replacement...

=)

this could get ugly =)

I hated adjusting the valves on mine, you have to remove all this crap on top of the valve cover.

I don't know what you guys are talking about I have changed the GP's on my 603 twice and have never had a problem.

Now my friends 606, wow thats going to be an expensive GP change...once Metric gets through with his head.
