Injector Nozzles for turbo 606 question
What is the lifespan of them? I am taking them out at 200K for a testing and cleaning so if nozzles are close to the end of their life, I'd like to replace them.

Actually
You're doing the right thing. There is a rule of thumb to replace at 100K but it's really when they test poorly.
|
Yes, check and/or adjust them every 100k but there is no need to replace them unless they test bad.

Any other suggestions on what nozzles to get? OEM? Bosio? Where to get it from? TIA

If it were me I would bring them to a Bosch shop and have them tested. They can get the replacement nozzles direct from Bosch and rebuild them if necessary. I know you can buy replacement rebuilt injectors from Bosch for around $100 a piece which is also an alternative. AFAIK there is no "rule of thumb" interval for testing or replacement of injectors. Basically if you have no symptoms of trouble (like smoke, nailing, roughness) I wouldn't go looking for any - but that's me. Mine have 165K on them and have never been out of the engine and all is well. I suppose if I had an extra $600 kicking around I would replace them at 200K but I don't so I won't.

I just wanted to know what to do should the shop suggest I replace the nozzles and what nozzles should I have in mind if it comes to that.
