sls pump leaking into block?

just changed the motor oil and got it up to the wright level, two days of driving the motor oil is high, and the sls fluid is below the min mark. could not find a leak in the suspension, the car handles great and stays level with 250lbs of grain in the back. is there a seal on the sls pump that is leaking into the block. thank god that i just have the atf in the sls system now. i have the febi waiting just trying to figure out what is going on with the sls befor i dump 17.95$ a liter into the system to have it drain into the block or somewhere. thanks for any information on this.

yes there is. May require a rebuild, I do not think it is just a gasket

thanks for the info, that is what i thought it might be. there is alot of fluid loss in the sls system, and alot of oil in the crankcase. will pull the pump off in the morning if i get up real early. would love to get this car on the daily driver commute.

fixed the sls pump 81 300tdt

so i took of the pump early in the mooring on wensday and took it to the vintage mercedes shop to have them check it over. we look all over the junk lot to see if i could just get a pump for the time being, but no luck. stopped by the shop friday after work and they said the the two part seal on the pump, was totally gone. the seal on the motor side was good and no motor oil was leaking in to the sls system but the seal on the pump side was shot and all torn up from atf in the system for too long. not my doing but the previce owners one. so the fluid in the sls system was just pumping the oil right in to the block. now i have to change the engine oil again and maybe i could elemanate the atf in the sls system now and put the febi in yes. everything else in he sls system is in great shape cant wait to fill the back of the wagon with a few hundred pounds of grain and drive like a mad man to feel the diffrence with the sls system working properly. hope this might help some one. will get the pump back on monday and install that night and drive on tuesday. will post and reply the results. next up on the 300tdt list the power locks and then the cruise control. and that will be it until something else go's a rye.

Fastlane sell the FEBI for $13.41 per liter.

Good work on fixing your pump. Working SLS is a beautiful thing.
