Have my eye on a non-op car, what should I do?
Hey everyone,
I noticed that a few streets over from my house there is a guy with a grey 300d. I didnt get too particularly close to it so Im not sure what year it is and i couldnt tell if it was a turbo. Im going to go tomorrow and talk to the owner and see it a little closer. The car has been just parked for some time. It is covered in spider webs and the tires are halfway flat. I was hoping i could get a steal on this and maybe change a few parts and ressurect this bad boy. Besides a new battery, what are the fastest and easiest ways to try to revivie this thing. Battery and I suppose change fuel filters and hook up fuel directly to the IP (like doing a purge). Im worried the glow plugs are going to be shot and i wont be able to get it to fire up. I want a biodiesel project car and even if I have problems with the tranny I just want the motor to run and run tests on my homemade fuels. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

This is probably the number one reason why older MB diesels end up sitting in people's driveways for years. It is also probably the number one reason why people on this forum get good deals on these cars, so instead of worrying about it, I'd pray for it.
