changed injectors now white smoke !!??

Hello,

I posted a request for assistance regarding my 87 300D turbo that shows black smoke, has a rocky idle and noisy at cold start-up , still smokes when hot and gives me lousy fuel economy (19-20 mpg).
The advice was to change the injectors, plugs. good cleaning.
This weekend I took everything apart, drained the oil, cleaned the whole intake manifold, cross over pipe, installed new Bosch injectors and glow plugs. Now hoses, did an oil change with Rotella, new filter of course.
Before, at cold start I had black smoke until it got hot and a bit at stop lights when idling.
Now, the smoke at cold start-up and idle hot is white-blue !!??
The idle is still rocky, noisy, so nothing much changed with the exception of the white-blue smoke.
I drove about 60 miles, the oil turned black as usual, no evidence of antifieze in the oil, doesn't get hot, the needle stays at a notch above 80. The engine seems to perform ok.
The engine received a rebuilt head and new chain about 25-30 K ago. Has 298K on the clock.
Can someone please tell me what is going on ?
Thanks

Marius

Try additive

I am fairly new to this forum, so excuse if I might be going out on a limb.
I had the same problem with my 82 240D, when I bought it, it ran seriously rough an I tinkered with it until found this forum.
They really put emphasis on good fuel and a good additive to the fuel.
I ran "Diesel Purge" from Lubro Moly through my system and it totally changed no more knocking and ringing.
Also I got bold and just sped up the idle some, which with air on was the way to go.
She purrs like a kitten now.

Good luck, Wolfgang
