HELLO! New to the forum, tho I have been browsing for quite some time.
I just purchased a 1985 300D turbo with 211k on it. I LOVE the car and am enthusiastically converting it to run on WVO (should be up and running in 2 weeks depending on how fast PlantDrive ships out

).
I have been having
several issues with the car since I bought it and started driving it around. The first problem was the
LOCKS: Basic VAC system problem I believe, I can unlock the driver side door, but CAN NOT unlock the passenger side doors. Also, there is some problem with the ignition switch or the tumbler I think because the car is temperamental and
only starts and shuts off when it feels up to it. I have had to cut the engine off with the stop lever beneath the hood many times now. Could these problems be linked?? Is the ignition problem possibly a VAC issue as well?
Oh yes, I'm also
LEAKING from somewhere and am purchasing a waterproof car cover for when it rains as a temporary solution. I am also
considering drilling several holes in the lowest part of the floor (rear passenger side) to allow the water to drain and I will coat the holes with some under carriage paint to ward away rust problems. Any opinions on drilling holes to let the water out?? I have decently severe allergies and asthma and mildewed carpet is not something that I want to deal with on a daily basis. I will slowly try to diagnose the leak, I'm thinking its the windshield seal as there is a decent crack in the bottom right corner.
Thank-you in advance for your responses. I am VERY new at doing work on my own car (Dad taught my brother but not me

) but I am EAGER to learn and to stop relying on my mechanic for EVERY LITTLE THING.
