If you do pull the injectors to put oil in there, Before re-fitting, place rags over inj. holes, and spin over on the starter for a few mins... Blow out the excess oil you put in there to avoid a 'hydraulic-lock' which could otherwise do damage.....

For what it's worth, I wouldn't spend the time pulling the injectors to pour oil in there. Diesel fuel is a reasonably good low-speed, low-pressure lubricant, and luckily those injectors are set up to squirt fuel into the combustion chambers. If the engine doesn't burn the fuel (in other words, if the engine is rolled over without glow plugs, and only for a crank or two, then a rest, etc,) then the fuel will get on the rings and provide a bit of lubricating.
And certainly if I DID take the injectors out, and I poured oil into the cylinders, I'd be very careful to make sure that only a tiny amount remained in there when I was ready to start up. |
