Gurkha, I can't believe you got rid of the RC45 for a R1...... Shame.
Didn't want to get rid of the RC45 but wifey won't have none of it, gave me the choice, the Yamaha's razor sharp handling combined with amazing power just seduced me and I succumbed to its charms. Pity as the RC 45 was full HRC conversion.

Make sure to email Force as well and stay on their case, this is one lazy ass company for sure.

Is anything stopping us from being interested in the GL 275 listed?

AFAIK the 717.x iron gearboxes will need a bellhousing. The GL is a one-piece alloy tranny.

How much for the GL275
Gurkha?

Force only makes the G1-18 5 and G-32 for MB, I am not aware of any other gear boxes from them.

IS the bellhousing something that we would have to come up with on our own?

Let me know if this gets any steam behind it. I'm surprised no one has gone for the engine itself. That would be sweet in a 240D. Just tag it along with the tranny order. How much for that engine anyways?

A turbo 240 is slower than an om617.91X. Granted it is lighter. If they hardened the crank, put the under piston oil squirters and used the sodium filled valves I bet you could put a VNT and IC on there and get a pretty sprightly car.

The turbo OM616 is nothing but a turbo 617 minus one cylinder and that means the same chain driven oil pump, oil squirter pistons, sodium filled valves, hardened crank and oil cooler. It develops 91bhp and when mated to the 5 speed, its quite peppy and pushes the heavy bodied Gurkha quite well.

Only a matter of time before these Indian clone parts show up on eBay, much like the Indian "Listeroid" diesel engines.

Which I have to say, at this point I want all of the above.

AFAIK not these, Force has an agreement with MB so they can't go out and commercially sell em, they are of course sold in bulk numbers to defence as they are used in self propelled guns called Bofors.

I'll clear a space on the bench for transmission rebuild and maybe take pics this weekend.
