Emergency Motor Oil Alternatives

We've had a lot of threads about what can be burned in the engine in case there's no diesel available, but what happens if one has an empty crankcase and needs to get going?

These folks suggest that clam chowder and beer are viable alternatives.

Terrible that they tried to kill the diesel, amazing (but not unbelievable) that it weathered their attempts.

That would be a tow truck or better still a flatbed for my car.

MY plan is this...

Secure one telephone with a dial tone.

USE said phone to call 1-800-222-0100 - Mercedes Roadside assistance, 24 hrs.

Yep, I'd call MB roadside and tell them I needed some oil, and they'd bring it to me, and sell it for a lot of $$, and I'd be on my way. Or I'd find a 24hr autozone/walmart/meijer/gas station/walgreens/cvs/rite aid....and buy the best oil I could to get me by.

There's many solutions that do not include running anything but oil. I'd have it flatbedded before I'd hurt the motor.

Uhh... You're not going anywhere... You'll have to fix that leak first. So better to call AAA or Mercedes road service as previously stated.

I don't carry any spares, because whatever breaks I won't have. Whats a gallon of oil going to do for you? The only way you lose oil if your driving is if you punch a hole in the pan, or blow an oil cooler line. Either way your stuck.

However all roadside problems can be solved by AAA and a Visa!

I carry a gallon. I figure it will suffice for fuel as well.
