Transmission Control Pressure Cable Replacement
I was servicing my 1982 300SD's transmission today and wanted to replace the control pressure cable (126 300 17 30). It's the one that is connected to the throttle linkage on the top of the valve cover. When I dropped the transmission pan, it looks like the only way to disconnect the bottom end of the cable is to drop the control valve body.
Is there another way to disconnect this cable on the transmission end? If I have to drop the control valve body, is it an easy thing to do if I am careful? Will tiny check valve balls go flying everywhere? Thanks. Tom

RAYMOND485,
Do I need to lower the transmission fluid level any or is the normal level below the point where the cable goes into the transmission? Second, how do I actually remove the cable assembly from the transmission? Carefully prize it up with a screwdriver or is this where you reference turning it 90 degrees to free it? Thanks. Tom
