My local MB dealer ABSOLUTELY REFUSES to even look at any car older than 1995. No B.S.! I was told it was because their costs were getting too high because of misdiagnoses... I guess all they can do now is plug them in and let a computer tell them how to fix it.

I figure most of the old school mechanics trained on these cars will be gone in the next 20 years leaving only the $$$$$$ classic center $$$$$ for support.

I know this must really drive you crazy because your attention to your MB's is exemplary! I take pretty much every car I own to Discount Tires whenever I need tires. I am completely satisfied with how every one I've been in runs their business. Always professional and by the book from what I can tell. And they do use a torque wrench to do the final tightening of the lug nuts.
My only complaint is that they will just pop off hubcap or center caps and let them smack face down on the concrete. If I take one of the MB's in I always pop off the hubbies as soon as they pull it into the bay.

I'm assuming that the rotors are warped...

They used their other tire balancer and it seems okay, since the vibration starts at around 45 mph.

If it is warped rotors, there's gonna be hell to pay! I had all 4 of my old tires mounted on the bundts I refinished and had them installed at Firestone in March. No issues there. Obviously a mistake was made, and I'm either going to get what I want, or make their lives absolutely miserable until I get it.

They have no idea who their dealing with...(insert TDT MAN photo)

Its borderline insanity!

It's pretty hard to misdiagnose bald tires!!!

Really, your dealer wouldn't put new tires on your car?

Its their policy...say the bald tire shows uneven wear, uneven wear shows poor alignment, car is not align-able because.... oh my I have to think now?

They are VERY stubborn, and make very few exceptions for life long service customers only.

The classic center is actually price competitive with most of the online stores (including fastlane). They also have access to MB's Germany warehouse parts list for the rare euro items and parts nobody in the US can get outside of an MB dealership.
