Drivers side window

Recently my drivers side window decided it wasnt going to go down anymore on my 300sd (82'). It still has power so I assumed it was probably just a bad guide jaw, but no such luck. A few things were broken on the regulator actually. Most notably a tooth on one of the gears and the stop. Plus one of the srews on the arm that screws into the metal bracket attached to the window itself popped out and took all the threading with it. I plan on going to the Junk yard next weekend and I'm sure I can find a good regulator and window bracket (or at least the parts to repair mine)...the question is will I have to take a battery with me in order to lower the window so that I can remove the regulator? I don't know how else I'm gonna get it out of there

I like to take one of those small jump start packs. they have an off on switch, and the cables are great for cliping onto stuff like motor leads.

Read this thread before you buy a bunch of parts.

Dirty switchs and broken wires are very common on these cars. Think of how old your car is and how many times the wires from the door to the in side of the car have been bent back and forth over the years and how much dirt could be in the switch in that time.

Out here it seems the windows are already lowered.
I did have one this week that was not. But using the guide holes predrilled into the door metal, I was able to get at the upper jaw screws.
