I broke it...am I in trouble? OM606 question
I had some leaking return lines on my rear injectors and when working on them I broke an elbow that is part of the EGR system. It is the elbow that exits the round thing(EGR valve?) under the false valve cover. It leads from the back of the round thing into the top of the valve cover. Now my recirculated exhaust gases are going to be released under the false cover instead of being directed into the intake. Can the car be driven until I replace the part? Or does it need to be parked? I'm assuming at the least I will have a mess under the false cover if I drive it and probably trip a CEL.
