Sources for Bosio Nozzles

Is there any place other than dieselgiant to get these from? His prices have gone up quite a bit lately. They are $46/ea now I can get cheaper nozzles from mercede$$ource.

I just spoke w/ C Sean Watts. The difference is in the size of the bore in the pintle. You will NOT notice significant gains on a 617 turbo until above 4k rpms. The 265 allows greater fuel flow in this range / faster delivery. Up until then, he says theyre is no preceptible diff. The 265 does make a difference for the 603 though.

"The 261 vs 265 comes down to which engine (specifically which head) you have. Any engine with an aluminum head needs the 265. If you have the older iron head, OM61X engine, you really would not notice any difference between the two. Both are big emission improvements over the 240. The exception is if you have a 617 with modifications, like bigger turbo, intercooler and IP putting out more fuel and governed to turn faster than stock.

Where you will see a difference is above 4000 RPM. The 265 is able to feed a ~17% smaller cylinder but at a faster rate. BUT overall, there is little difference in the two. "

this is the quote from Sean.

I bought 261's

from the threads I read, the 265's sounded more desireable. But I totally trust Mr. Watts

ps..I just edited the previous post.

I do have a upgraded turbo, intercooler, etc. I had not thought about the 17% smaller displacement per cyl though. I wonder which I should use...

If you do an internet search for Bosio Injector Nozzles you will come up with 1 other source. But the name Bosio will not be in the web address. They cater to VW TDI users but sell Bosio Nozzles for Mercedes and I believe BMWs also.

I caught the TDI forums, alot of it included importation, no? The more I read, the more the Bosio price seems inflated due to commercialization..etc. Vendors make more money selling Fratelli Bosio products than Monark.

$46 each?! Wow. I think I paid like $29 for them when I got them from him only a little over a year ago!

I have OEM Bosch (Made in France) nozzles available in a limited quantity for $50 each, if anyone wants OEM instead of Bozio. Just PM to arrange.

The nozzles are for the 617 turbo engine.

The bores are almost the same, the SD 240 has a hole in the pintle. The 261 and 265 don't, they have a facet cut between the shoulders. The design intent between the two (261 and 265) is emissions. The 265 came out with the aluminum heads and trap oxidizers.

BOTH feed the same displacement engine but the OM 603 (stock with the SD 265) can turn higher RPM. I try to stay under 4K with mine but I'm still keeping the 265s, as I have found no reference to back date fitting for newer motors, only update fitting with older motors.

The bottom line is EITHER 261 or 265 are a good improvement over the 240.
