changing flex-discks today

79 300 SD. My plan of attack is>rent stall w/hoist. Drop exauhst ,lower trans mount , remove drive-shaft,remove flex-disck and re-install. I will change the trans-mount while it is apart. Put everything back together. Sounds straight forward. Anything else I should be aware of ,besides making sure that the flex-discks are facing the right way?

Wish I had the use of a lift, would have made the job a bit more comfortable and easier.

Isn't the drive shaft balanced? When doing a tranny swap recently, I noticed that there were areas on the ends of the drive shaft where metal had been removed for balancing. To be on the safe side, I'd use a marker to ensure that it is reinstalled in the exact orientation that it was removed. I don't know how much difference it will make, but it's not too much trouble to do.

Mark the DS by all means. You only need to drop the muffler donuts in the back and where it mounts on the trans, make sure you support it so the flex pipe doesnt break. While you are in there inspect the center carrier bearing/mount.

Done

Everything was straight forward. No problems it went smooth. Thanks to all for input. I am glad to have rented a lift-this cut the project time in half at least. Chilcutt
