Yaaaay!
The trunk of my 240D did it's job protecting my wife & son in a rear end hit & run. Chance had me driving her geo tracker. Lets hear it for the pioneers of energy absorbing structures! I don't even care that I need a good body shop now.

I would be more concerned that your wife and son did not suffer severe whiplash. That is the important thing right now. Considering having them checked out even if they feel fine.

I'm glad nobody was hurt.
A body shop can't save a W123 from a major rear-end collision without spending far more than the car is worth. But, if their car was good enough to run after the hit it might be minor enough to pull out. |

Quite sorry to hear of the wreck It's a blessing that no one was hurt...hopefully you get your car back in working order!

If you cant fix it, make sure you get another one.
After saving your family from injury, it'd be treason not to

No doubt, I'm looking if need be. So far, a lot better than the last time. She took another rear end, coincidentally in the previous tracker years ago. It's mounted on a truck frame, & didn't give at all. I expect the acceleration was higher w/ the geo less weight & no crumple at all.
Damage could be worse, looks like he rode over the bumper & into the back panel, trunk lid & right quarterpanel. Taillight got jammed through it's hole and is bouncing around in the trunk. I'll take a pic if the camera takes home. |
