Transmission question
Hey all,
I have a 86 190D non turbo AT that when it's colder (<50 degrees) the transmission hestitates and slips until the car is warm. Once the car is warm it doesn't have any problem. It reverses fine, no problems, but forward gears it hesitates very badly and revs the engine very high. It doesn't shift it just stays high RPMs. Once the car warms up to 80 degrees it drives normal. Does any one have any suggestions on what this may be? Do I need a transmission flush? Do I need to fix the Bowden cable that I keep reading about? I checked the fluid level and it looked fine. Thanks.

Do a forum search for....
B2 piston. Check out some of those posts and see if they don't match your symptoms.

Now does it slip or just not shift into the next higher gear? If not shifting, does it shift if you let off the throttle? If slipping, does it slip when first starting out, or just between gears?
Don't waste your money on a trans flush. Its only going to help drain your wallet. How many miles on the car?
