Seat belts loose

My back seat seat belts are not retracting, they just lay there pulled out all the way. Seems like some sort of a spring is broken or something..
Any tips before I dig into the side panel? Any parts I would need to order?
Thanks

I'd chk around with some salvage yards for the entire seatbelt. Try car-part.com.

So is it not something that could be fixed?

Lazy retractors are something the Germans are famous for.

If they won't retract at all, sounds like perhaps they got twisted.

You should be able to get to the retractors in the boot/trunk, see if you can find the problem there. If you need "new" ones, I probably have a set of Palomino ones from my other '87, but they will have only marginal spring tension as they all do.

Repair is not recommended BTW, for liability purposes mainly.

... or it could be too that the belt might just be twisted inside thus slowing down the retraction...... but thats too easy..
