'95 E300D air in fuel line.

I replaced all of the plastic fuel lines, along with the o'rings, and the pre-filter, however I still have air in the short tube leading to the prefilter. It starts up with out an issue, but it buggs me thats its there, knowing it shouldnt be. Any ideas?

Thanks

if you are referring to the fact that line drains back toward the cyl head when shut down, then that is normal.

If there are bubbles there when running, it is indicitive of a leak. Good thing in that event is that it narroows the leak down to the oring exiting the fuel preheater. Slight chance it might be a bad gasket at the heater or a bad hard line back to the tank.

Thanks,

I have already replaced the gasket since I was in there with the IM off ( didnt want to re-visit ) and all the fuel lines are brand new along with all the o'rings, which leads me to suspect the main fuel line, since I havent touch that yet. Otherwise, after i start the car, there is some small air bubles going through, but not much. Thanks foir narrowing it down for me.
