G-wagen projector headlights for W123?

Has anyone tried projector headlights off a 07 and newer G-class in a W123?

I asked a similar question a few years back, no response. With the US Spec assembly housings and some work, I think it might be feasible.

What about just going with a projector conversion? Take something like these lights:

which are intended to replace the stock sealed beams, and just take the little plastic protector out & paint it black. I know it doesn't look exactly the same, but it's reasonably close (may look a little better since it won't be asymmetric, actually).

That's a good point - you can customize your ride to look left or right or be cross-eyed. If Marty Feldman had a 123...
