Transmission Bell Housing bolts tight and none missing.

Pulled out rear seat and definitely here a metallic sound from floorboard under rear seat behind passenger. Insides of resonator must be Flapping.

Looking to replace Resonators; L/R assembly or bypass !

I had a sound exactly like this after I replaced my turbo downpipe. It would rattle when you accelerate or when you hold the brake and rev engine while in drive. Turned out the resonator was hitting a piece of the floorboard and causing this sound. I re-adjusted the exhaust system and no problem anymore.

Pulled our rear seat yesterday and noise got allot louder. I made an appointment today to get the Resonators removed and put on a connection piece and some side brackets for support L to R.

TY for all the replies. Interested on how it sounds with just the rear muffler.

When rear muffler goes I'll renew the exhaust system entirely, ouch.

What do you fellows like Bosal or ANSA? ANSA is a couple hundred cheaper.

Exhaust brace

I looked for any missing bolts but I see I need to take off the cross bracket to get a good look at the bottom bolts.

I have a torque wrench, anybody know the torque setting for these bolts on the bell housing?

They look like standard hex heads.

TY
There should be a brace at the back of the trans. Attached, you will see a zip file with a pic. of the exhaust system.

Today took car to muffler shop. Fellow cut out the Pair of Resonators exactly at Weld. Installed short jumper and welded. He also made a L/R cross bracket back to Rubber mounts. Used (2) 3/8 x 1/16" x 3' flat bar (cold rolled steel)that I got a Ace Hardware. Didn't take long and pretty easy to align.

Weighed the removed pair of Resonators- 25# (not sure what a new pair weigh but these definitely feel twice what the should).

Most of the flapping slapping noise is gone now. Better response 5-10%.

Outside noise the same to me. At rear seems same to me "Revved it to 3,000 RPM. Inside noise about the same.

Thumping sound from start up mostly gone. It was pretty loud inside car.

Ty for inputs.

Lawson,

TY for letting me know there is supposed to be a Exhaust Bracket at the back of the Transmission. I have the one at the front just below the Expansion Joint. Now I need one for the rear of the transmission. I'll have to see if a bone yard has one around me or maybe get one from Phil at Fast Lane. TY
